Artist’s Statement

Meet Janiel Hsieh, also recognized by her artistic alias, Red Glitter. Janiel is a self-taught creative based in Taiwan, known for her captivating watercolor and gouache floral paintings, as well as intricate repeat patterns. While her primary focus lies in these domains, she continually diversifies her portfolio, venturing into charming depictions of animals and exploring engaging subjects such as fruits.

Janiel's artistic approach is characterized by an intuitive and delicate style, steering away from hyper-realistic illustrations. Instead, she skillfully captures the soul and essence of her subjects, bringing them to life through her expressive brushstrokes. Each mark on her canvas unfolds a unique narrative, contributing to the rich tapestry of her artistic storytelling.

Having spent her formative years in Taiwan, Janiel's passion for drawing and painting blossomed during her childhood. In 2016, she took a leap of faith and migrated to Australia in pursuit of a fulfilling life. It wasn't until 2017 that she rediscovered her love for painting, complementing her part-time role as a nurse with the nurturing of her artistic inner child during her free hours.

Janiel finds something enchanting in the moments spent creating art with her hands, and she aspires to transition into a full-time licensing artist in the future. Through her unique blend of creativity and dedication, Janiel Hsieh continues to craft a story with each stroke of her brush, weaving a narrative that transcends borders and resonates with art enthusiasts worldwide.
