Claude Pouilloux

    Biography

Claude, born in 1931 in Poitiers, France, rediscovered his artistic passion upon retirement. An autodidact inspired by 20th-century artists, nature, and architecture, he developed a unique style of abstract contemporary drawings and paintings. Claude's work, totaling 560 pieces, often featured unconventional mediums and surfaces like sand or crumpled paper.
His "atelier" was his apartment dining table, where he created small-format pieces using brushes, pencils, and markers. Claude's art began as a personal journey, sharing with friends and family through holiday cards. Later, his work gained recognition when displayed in his son's clinic.

Before passing in 2021, Claude collaborated with his son to create a website, preserving his legacy and introducing his art to a wider audience.
